Barranco has many houses in the colonial and Republican style (called "casonas"), flower-filled parks and streets, and appealing beachfront areas. Barranco best tudor home of the kind (SECONDHOMEPERU B&B) was the Atelier of the well known artist Victor Delfin, who created El PARQUE DEL AMOR/El Beso in Miraflores. At the beginning of Barranco you will see Lima's Barranco modern art museum, the MAC. The Museum of Pedro de Osma, which hosts one of the best collections of colonial art and is itself one of Barranco's best kept examples of late-19th century architectural style. The district includes numerous restaurants, Central is the flagship restaurant of Peruvian chef, Virgilio Martinez and serves as his workshop in the investigation and integration of indigenous Peruvian ingredients into the restaurant menu. All along the water, on the side walk you can use bicycles, jogging or just enjoy the most magical sunsets that la Costa Verde can provide.
The Asociación Civil Casa Taller Delfín is dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the life and work of renowned Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín. Founded in 2005 by his descendants, the Association was born as a commitment to the memory and legacy of one of the country’s most emblematic creators.
The Association safeguards and manages a valuable set of resources that document Delfín’s artistic legacy. These include a collection of representative works that form the permanent collection; a historical and press archive that gathers key documents about his career; a map that locates his works in private collections and public institutions; and an audiovisual repository with recordings of his work and thought in various formats.
